New roof completed recently in Dublin. All old tiles were removed and a new breathable membrane as added below the roof. New timber battens were installed on the roof along with new tiles. Ridge tiles were repointed and all timbers was treated.
Work Carried Out
1. Ridges Tiles Replacement
Ridge tiles on top of the roof can become loose and the motar in between can become decayed over time allowing them to move around in the wind and let water in.
2. All Ridge Tiles Taken Off
Ridge tiles are removed for inspection and new timber battens and membrane can be installed.
3. New Breathable Membrane Installed
Breathable membrane is replaced as this decays over time. Breather membranes prevent water ingress, but allows moisture to escape.
4. New Treated Timber Battens
Roof timber battens provide a secure fixing point for roof tiles, slates, or metal sheets, keeping them in place.
5. All New Ridge Tiles Installed
Roof ridge tiles are specially designed tiles that cover and protect the peak (ridge) of a pitched roof where two roof slopes meet. They serve several important for weatherproofing as they seal the ridge against rain, wind, and snow, preventing water from seeping into the roof structure.
